Hello and thank you for visiting my page. As an Affective Dog Behavior coach and instructor, my primary focus in my life and work with dogs and their humans is on emotional connection.
I know, I know, we have all been taught that training solves behavior issues, and that our dogs should obey, but once you learn how your dog's emotions affect their behavior, you will see that we cannot train emotions away. With training, we can only suppress emotions, which can and oftentimes will lead to other - more annoying or extreme - issues.
So, how else, if not through training, can we shape our dog's behaviors?
First and foremost, we need to learn to recognize and meet the dog's needs in the moment when the need arises, be it a physical or emotional need. We need to be there for them and "have their backs", so to speak; be their trusted source.

Did you know that nearly all "problem" behaviors are due to unmet needs?

I would like to help you build that special relationship with your dog, where your dog turns to you for support when something worries them so that they don't have to show those big, overwhelming behaviors.

If you are anywhere near Trinidad, Colorado, we can set up in-person sessions, or you can book a spot in one of our (small) group classes. And if you are located outside of my in-person area, I'd be happy to meet with you online. Either way, just give me a call when you are ready to. My number is 719-680-2061.

Thanks again for stopping by,
